Chicano Photographer

rene Rodriguez

Born and raised in Los Angeles, spanning the vibrant neighborhoods from Boyle Heights to Mid-City, discovered his passion for photography at the age of 15. His early work was dedicated to capturing the essence of the Chicano lifestyle and the vivid urban graffiti scenes of Los Angeles. Through his photography, Rodriguez aimed to share a perspective of his community that was both authentic and enlightening. His images serve as a visual narrative of life in the city, documenting both the mundane and remarkable moments that define the urban experience.

Rodriguez’s approach to photography is deeply personal, driven by a desire to convey the overlooked emotions and stories within his community. With his camera in hand, he navigates the streets of Los Angeles, easily recognized by his signature Summit lowrider fedora and Pendleton, capturing snapshots that reflect the dynamic spirit of the city.
